In order to become board certified in plastic surgery training, you must complete a three-year residency program. This residency program must be accredited by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and approved by the North American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (NASHPS). You will also complete a national certification exam in order to become certified by the ABPS. This exam is known as the NCLEX-RN. There are two types of plastic surgery that you can perform during your residency:
